Bodegas Azpea is a family-run winery founded in 2000, located in the town of Lumbier, in Navarra. Its roots are closely connected to the area’s long-standing agricultural heritage and to a deeply ingrained wine culture, as winemaking has been part of everyday life in the village for generations, both for personal consumption and for local trade.

Lumbier has been historically linked to viticulture since ancient times and was already mentioned in the 1st century AD by Pliny the Elder as a wine-producing settlement. Today, Bodegas Azpea continues to honour this legacy, preserving the same dedication to vineyard work and traditional winemaking that has defined the town for centuries, and keeping alive one of the oldest known winemaking traditions in Navarra.

Ileguri is a rosé wine made from red Garnacha using the traditional “saignée” method. This technique consists of slowly drawing off the free-run juice after a short maceration of at least 24 hours, helping to preserve the wine’s delicacy and varietal character.

Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, always below 18ºC, in order to best preserve the fresh, fruity aromas that define the wine, as well as its marked natural acidity, typical of the Baja Montaña area.

The result is a well-balanced, fresh, and expressive rosé, designed to be enjoyed in informal moments or as a versatile companion at the table.

Jauzi is a white wine made from Viura must, sourced from a single vineyard located on “saso” land, known for being poor in nutrients but with deep soil layers that bring complexity to the vine.

These conditions, together with a limited yield of around 5,000 kg/ha, allow the grapes to develop strong aromatic potential, balanced alcohol levels, and well-integrated acidity.

Ideal to pair with fish and appetizers, it is a very sociable and enjoyable wine, perfect for gatherings and social events.

This is a recently introduced range within the winery, or part of it, representing the renewal of its oldest viticultural heritage. It is made from Garnacha vines aged between 70 and 120 years. This wine highlights the potential of this variety and demonstrates that careful cultivation of such old, low-yield vineyards results in wines of great character and expression.

Produced from the same vineyards, this wine undergoes a longer aging process, reaching 24 months in oak barrels and completing its refinement with a period of bottle aging. The result is a full-bodied wine with presence, while maintaining finesse and elegance on the palate.

Ideal to accompany roasted or stewed meats and hearty dishes with intense flavors. It is also especially recommended as a post-meal wine, or dessert wine style.
