BODEGA MENDIKO
Within the D.O. Navarra there are 4 sub-regions: Bodega Mendiko is located in the sub-region ‘Baja-Montaña’ and is the northernmost wine region of Navarra and at the same time the northernmost of the whole Peninsula! At an altitude between 400 and 700 metres above sea level, the vines enjoy a Microclimate that offers a balance between stable, not too high temperatures, moderate humidity and rainfall and cold winters with abundant snowfalls; in its entirety comparable to the French region such as ‘Cahors’, among others.
Mendiko (meaning : ‘From the Mountain’)
The winery is the result of Victorino Ibero's commitment to the wine-growing heritage, taking up the tradition of his ancestors, making the most of the vines already planted decades ago. As evidence and with the same commitment to the ancestral policy of a viticulture respectful of the land, free of chemicals and based on the manual and constant care of the plant. To honour this legacy, he undertook the creation of wines in which the strong character of the terroir, the land, the mountain, the soil, the mixture of karst and lime, speaks first and foremost. The result is concentrated, full-bodied, full-bodied wines with lively, ripe fruit, a lot of tension and the right amount of acidity. In the whole range this small bodega offers great wines, much more than they know themselves: it results in an unbeatable price/quality ratio.
